Six visiting Solo sailors from various clubs attended along with six members from the host club. The day consisted of a three race programme with two to count for final placing. The twelve participating sailors were met with bright sunshine and variable winds of between 10 & 15 mph. Whilst all races were tightly contested by the mid fleet sailors the dominant three of the day were Colin Newton - Staunton Harold, Chris Gillard - Sheffield Viking & Keith Lancaster - Rugby & Daventry. In the first two races all three sailors were vying for the first three positions on the water but it was Colin Newton that pulled away winning both race 1 & 2. Colin decided to sit race three out and enjoy the sun from the bank whilst leaving Chris and Keith to fight it out to decide second and third places. In the early part of race three both sailors took the lead at various stages but it was Chris Gillard who finally pulled away to confirm a win and second place overall with Keith Lancaster taking third in the final placing.
